Is your cluttered boot driving you crazy? Are you sick of looking at dirt on your car seats and floor mat?

Cleaning your car can be draining and time-consuming, but we’ve got you covered with 11 quick cleaning and organizing hacks to tackle various areas in your car!

1. Clean Narrow Areas With Slime

Say goodbye to the crumbs and dirt in your cupholders with this simple 3-ingredient slime!

What You’ll Need:

  • 4oz white glue
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1½ tablespoon contact lens solution

Mix the ingredients together and add more baking soda if the slime is still too sticky. Use the slime to collect dirt in the cupholder and even in crevices that are hard to reach! The slime can be reused again, so keep it in a container and store it in your car for easy access.

Alternatively, for easier cleaning in the future, line your cupholders with cupcake liners. This way, the cupcake liner will collect the dirt and you can dispose of them easily. You can also use them as a holder for small items like coins.

Tip: Silicone cupcake liners are a more eco-friendly option as they can be rinsed and reused!

2. Use Brushes To Remove Dust From Crevices & Vents

Wiping dashboards with a normal, dry cloth may cause dust to spread everywhere as some cloths do not pick dust. Coffee filters are made of lint-free material, so dust sticks to them very easily. You can also use these to dust larger surfaces in the car, like leather seats.

5. Use A Toothbrush To Scoop Out Dirt In Seats

What You’ll Need:

Steps:

  1. Make the solution by mixing 2 parts water with 1 part detergent in a spray bottle.
  2. Pull seatbelt out to its maximum and use a clamp to hold it in place, or get someone to hold it out for you.
  3. Spray the solution onto the seatbelt, but be careful not to soak it.
  4. Use a brush or sponge to scrub dirt and grime out of seatbelt.
  5. Dry the seatbelt by patting with a microfibre cloth.
  6. Let it air dry for 24 hours before sliding the seatbelt back into place.

Here are some tips to get you started on organizing your trunk:

  • Before organizing, remove everything and vacuum your boot.
  • Smaller essentials like umbrellas, plastic bags and hand sanitizer should be elevated using a hanging organizer, hung behind the backseat. Leave the ground for larger items.
  • Use collapsible bins or trolley carts for transporting temporary items like groceries. Fold when not in use for more space.
