1. All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
A great alternative for chemical-laden cleaners would be good ol’ fashioned vinegar.
Whip up a batch of all-purpose vinegar cleaning spray that can be used for cleaning dirt and grease from wood, glass, stainless steel and porcelain surfaces.
This works well because acetic acid, found in vinegar, loosens the dirt and grease buildup. It also doubles as a deodoriser to leave you with a fresh-smelling surface, and to prevent the growth of microorganisms.
Note: Conduct a small patch test on a surface first if you are unsure about the suitability of the mixture on it. However, never clean granite or marble surfaces with vinegar as they will corrode the surface!
- In a clean spray bottle, combine warm water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio with a funnel.
- Add in 10-20 drops of your favourite essential oil.
- Twist the cap on and shake well.
- Spray mixture on the surface to be cleaned and wipe with a soft, microfiber cloth.
2. Oven Cleaning Spray
The oven is a wondrous source of roasted, baked and heated goods. But, it can also tend to accumulate grease and grime quite fast!
To get your entire oven clean, you can make an all-natural oven cleaner spray with baking soda. The alkalic properties of baking soda can aid in dissolving dirt and grease easily in the presence of water, allowing for effective removal. It deodorizes by absorbing odours as well!
Simply add 6 parts of water to 1 part of white vinegar in a spray bottle and mix. Then, add in 1 part of baking soda.
Spray the interior of your oven and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before wiping with a clean microfiber cloth.
3. Glass Cleaning Spray
Not fond of taking harsh chemicals to your windows? Try mixing rubbing alcohol with water in a 1:1 ratio in a spray bottle.
You can lightly spritz this mixture on our Anti-scratch Mirror & Glass Cleaning Cloth to help you get your windows to a streak-free finish!
Note: Use a new spray bottle to prevent the vinegar and alcohol from picking up traces of any residue from a previous solution, which may lead to unwanted chemical reactions.

4. Air Freshening Spray
Freshen up the air at home without any chemicals! In a spray bottle, simply add vinegar and water in a 1: 3 ratio. The acetic acid in vinegar works wonders in neutralising alkaline odours.
You can also add in a few drops of your favourite essential oil to enrich your air freshening spray’s scent! Here are some benefits of common scented essential oils:
- Rose: A floral scent that is sure to sweeten up your day! Helps with reducing anxiety and uplifting the spirit.
- Lavender: A subtle floral scent that’s well-known for its soothing and relaxing properties. You can also inhale it for some headache relief.
- Peppermint: Has a distinctive minty aroma that’s crisp and refreshing. Can offer relief from symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. It may also help with headaches and indigestion.
- Ylang ylang: Releases a spicy but sweet scent. May aid in relaxation, boosting self-esteem and even a repellent for some insects!
5. Dust Repellent Spray
Did you know that a simple mixture of liquid fabric softener and water can form a dust repelling solution? Hard to believe, but it’s true! Static cling from surfaces is what attracts dust, and fabric softener can work to create a thin barrier that limits that cling.
All you have to do is mix water and a non-toxic liquid fabric softener in a 4:1 ratio. Spritz a microfiber cloth with the dust repelling spray and wipe away!
If you would prefer one that is made of all-natural ingredients, create a dusting spray by adding water and white vinegar in a 4:1 ratio. Next, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 8-10 drops of lavender essential oil to form your dusting spray.

6. Mattress Freshening Spray
Has your bed started to smell from long-term usage? Worried about bugs making you itch as well?
Bed bugs and dust mites can crawl into your bed at night to feed on flakes of your skin that you shed daily. Tell those itty-bitty bugs and bothersome odours to bugger off with some homemade disinfectant spray!
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Then, spray your mattress sparingly to get rid of any unwanted scents and bugs. Let it air dry for a day.
Tip: You can sprinkle the mattress with some baking soda after spraying the solution to have a deeper clean. Vacuum the mattress surface after it has dried to remove the residue.
