While life may give you lemons, lemon as a citrus fruit has amazing superpowers. From removing odour and stains to cleaning your home, learn the benefits of lemons in keeping your home looking fresh.
1. For removing odour
- On your hands

- On your chopping board
Similarly, the smells of garlic and onion are tend to be left behind on the chopping board after use. To get rid of the smell, cut up a cut lemon and rub it on the surface of the chopping board. Leave it to rest for at least 20 minutes and rinse it of after. No more garlicky smell left behind after anymore!
2. For cleaning
- Wooden chopping board
Always keep the hygiene of your wooden chopping board at check. Clean it thoroughly with the help of coarse sea salt and lemon. Simply sprinkle the sea salt on your chopping board and rub the surface with half a lemon. Finally, wipe the residue off and care for your board by oiling it. Spread edible oil over your board and wipe it with a paper towel. The main reason for oiling is for wood fibers to absorb the oil, preventing your board from soaking up other liquid that comes in contact.
Tip: Whenever your wooden board appears dry, oil them and keep them lasting forever.
